Terms and Conditions for Pet Visit Services

1. Definitions

  • Client: The person booking pet sitting services.
  • Pet Sitter: Peace of Mind Pet Sitting.
  • Pets: The animals listed in the booking form that are to be cared for.
  • Services: Pet visits  including, daily, twice daily and puppy visits.

2. Booking and Payment 

  • Full payment must be made by the completion of the service period or after every seven consecutive days of service.
  • Payment methods accepted: bank transfer or cash.

3. Client Responsibilities

  • Ensure all pets are up-to-date with vaccinations, flea, and worm treatments.
  • Provide accurate details about the pets, including dietary needs, medical conditions, and behavioural traits. Only house trained, sociable cats and dogs will be cared for. Aggressive or band breed dogs will not be accepted.
  • Supply all necessary items, including food, bedding, leads, litter, medications, and cleaning supplies.
  • Inform the pet sitter of any potential hazards or specific instructions related to the home or pets.
  • Provide an emergency contact if possible.

4. Pet Sitter Responsibilities

  • Provide care as outlined in the service section of this website, including feeding, administering medications, and cleaning up after pets.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the pets while in their care.
  • Notify the client immediately in the event of an emergency or unexpected situation.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding the client’s home and personal details.

5. Emergency Procedures

  • In the event of a medical emergency, the pet sitter will contact the client (or emergency contact)  and/or the pet’s registered veterinarian.
  • If the client cannot be reached, the pet sitter is authorised to seek veterinary care as deemed necessary.
  • The client agrees to cover all costs associated with veterinary care.

6. Liability

  • The pet sitter will not be held liable for injury, illness, loss, or death of a pet unless caused by negligence.
  • The client is responsible for any damages caused by their pets to the sitter or third parties.

7. Access to Property

  • The client must provide the pet sitter with clear instructions on accessing the property (e.g., keys, alarm codes).
  • Keys will be returned at the end of the service unless otherwise agreed.
  • The pet sitter is not responsible for the security of the home.

8. Termination of Service

  • The pet sitter reserves the right to terminate services if a pet is found to be aggressive, unmanageable, or if the environment is unsafe.
  • The client will be notified immediately, and efforts will be made to ensure the pet’s safety.

9. Data Protection

  • The pet sitter will handle all client and pet information in compliance with GDPR regulations.
  • Personal data will only be used for the purposes of providing pet sitting services.

10. Agreement By booking services, the client acknowledges they have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions.

 

Terms and Conditions for Overnight Pet Sitting Services

1. Definitions

  • Client: The person booking pet sitting services.
  • Pet Sitter: Peace of Mind Pet Sitting.
  • Pets: The animals listed in the booking form that are to be cared for.
  • Services: Pet sitting, feeding, walking, and any additional tasks as agreed upon in the booking form.

2. Booking and Payment

  •  Bookings will not be confirmed until a consultation has been carried out with the client and the contract, with full details of client requirements, has been signed by the client.
  • A deposit of 20% is required at the time of booking to secure the service.
  • Full payment must be made by the start of service.
  • Payment methods accepted: bank transfer or cash.

3. Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations made more than 4 weeks before the start date of the service will receive a full refund of the deposit.
  • Cancellations made within 1 week of the service start date may forfeit the deposit.
  • In the event of a cancellation by the pet sitter, all payments made will be refunded in full.

4. Client Responsibilities

  • Ensure all pets are up-to-date with vaccinations, flea, and worm treatments.
  • Provide accurate details about the pets, including dietary needs, medical conditions, and behavioural traits. Only house trained, sociable cats and dogs will be cared for. Aggressive or band breed dogs will not be accepted.
  • Supply all necessary items, including food, bedding, leads, litter, medications, and cleaning supplies.
  • Inform the pet sitter of any potential hazards or specific instructions related to the home or pets.
  • Provide clean bedding and a clean, comfortable environment for the pet sitter. Allow the use of basic facilities, appliances, television, Wi-Fi etc.
  • Provide an emergency contact if possible.

5. Pet Sitter Responsibilities

  • Provide care as outlined in the booking form, including feeding, walking, administering medications, and cleaning up after pets.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the pets while in their care.
  • Notify the client immediately in the event of an emergency or unexpected situation.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding the client’s home and personal details.
  • Carry out basic home care services such as putting bins out, collecting mail and watering indoor plants. Extra services such as basic garden care can be arranged.

  • If the client cannot be reached, the pet sitter is authorised to seek veterinary care as deemed necessary.
